4 (1) Entry Prolonged engagement with the Arkansas Department of Education Since 2005 (Mid-Continent Comprehensive Center [MC3]) Strong relationships, personally and institutionally Proven track record of success 4

5 (2) Needs Assessment (10) Re-planning Monthly scheduled conversations with SEA Executive Leadership Review of current projects in Management Plan Discuss new and upcoming ADE initiatives Share resources and supports from Content Centers Plan new and upcoming technical assistance projects with ADE 5

6 ADE requested information about SEA strategic plans. SC3 contacted BSCP Center for resources. 6

7 SC3 sent SEA strategic plans curated by FLICC to ADE. Monthly BSCP Center update included information about “Sam’s New Tool.” SC3 shared potential of BSCP Center resources with ADE during monthly call. 7

8 SC3 facilitated a conference call with BSCP Center and ADE to explore potential of SPM Process. BSCP Center shared a draft copy of the SPM manual with SC3. 8

9 SC3 reviewed the SPM Manual and Process with ADE. ADE, SC3, and BSCP Center established a learning and implementation timeline. 9

10 (3) TA Work Plan Collaborative planning for SPM instructional milestones in Year 4 Ongoing SPM scaffolding of milestones for Year 4 and Year 5 until process becomes routinized Connections to other ADE initiatives, with which SC3 is intimately familiar, often across divisions 10

11 BSCP Center and SC3 are providing instruction on all modules in 7 sessions. 11

12 (4) Implementation (5) SEA Capacity Building Iterative process of instruction, practice, coaching, and refinement Modules presented in chunks in accordance with SEA calendar, including Chief’s availability Access to drafts via Google Drive Coaching calls/visits to support implementation 12

13 An Example from October: SC3 offered one-on-one refinement of understanding during a regular on-site visit to ADE, which then informed the instruction provided by BSCP Center the following week. 13
