Working with this this archive image Artists are of called upon to render in marble and bronze the nation’s remembrance.. WW I and II and other wars: e.g. George Frampton, Albert Toft, Goscombe John, C.S. Jagger, Gilbert Ledward, Derwent Wood, Alexander Carrick, Walter Marsden, Louis Roslyn and many more.

Ww2 Albert Toft Oldham, Greater Manchester Date Design 1919-23 Bronze group of five soldiers in full equipment climbing out of a dugout and launching an attack. Surmounted by standing figure. The whole on a rectangular base which serves to house books containing the roll of honour of the 10th and 24th Battalions, Manchester Regiment.

Goscombe John designed 'The Response 1914' as a narrative sculpture depicting soldiers marching off to war watched by an angel while women and children bid them farewell.
