Holiday Market The 6 th Annual Holiday Market for Nursing Home Residents Mrs. Heidi Rhea
2
What is the Holiday Market? Provides free shopping opportunity to three area nursing home residents. Residents get 6 tickets each and each item is worth 1 ticket. Residents may choose to shop for family and friends or for themselves. Gift wrapping is available for them too.
3
Why Have the Holiday Market? Residents often are bed bound or wheelchair bound and can not easily go out. Many do not have family nearby to even take them out. Residents miss going out to shop for their family and friends. Gives them a sense of independence and pride to be able to shop for others.

How Can You Help? Ask for donations from friends and family None of the items have to be expensive and they can be new or nearly new or stuff you already have at home. You can also buy things at the Dollar Tree or Dollar General or donate money for purchasing items. Some small things can be bundled together as one gift. We also need gift bags and decorated or plain gift boxes.

How can you help? Assist the residents as they shop
7
How Can You Help? Bring your family or invite friends to help We need lots of people to set up, escort the residents around, help them shop, and wrap gifts. Families and friends are welcome to come to any or all three events.

Day of Holiday Market Wear a school group/church shirt or a holiday outfit. It is often very warm in the nursing homes so if you wear anything too warm, wear layers you can take off. Wear a fun Christmas hat. Don’t bring a bunch of valuables, like a purse ( if you do, make sure it is in secure place.) Sign in Put on a nametag. SMILE and have fun. I will give you more instructions that day.
