4. First… you want to pretend that you are doing two digit by one digit multiplication. I like to cover the digit.

5. Second… Follow the steps when multiplying
Second… Follow the steps when multiplying. Two X Five is Ten, so you would write the zero and carry your one. 1 45

6. Next Multiply two and four to get eight. Don’t forget to add the one.1 45

7. Now we clean house! You will ALWAYS place a zero in the ones place when moving on to the tens place. But first, you want to erase the numbers you carried. 45
