WORKING CONDITIONS n Athletic Trainers usually work indoors at a gym or training facility. They have constant contact with coaches and athletes

SKILLS Some of the skills that a athletic trainer needs is n Be physically fit n Read and understand written materials n Judge the costs and benefits of a possible action n Use math skills to solve problems n Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work n Manage the time of self and others n Look for ways to help people n Determine the tools and equipment needed to do a job n Persuade others to approach things differently n Solve problems

Preparations n Must have at least a bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved school. n Must of completed 800 hours of supervised clinical experience in 2 or more years n Pass the National Athletic Trainers Certification board exam

WORK HOURS Many work full-time. Works days and some weekends depending on the sports season. Travels for long periods of time

Employment Outlook The employment field is large in gyms and doctors offices. Athletic trainers are in high demand because of all the athletes.

Major Employers are gyms, athletic clubs, colleges, and hospitals The advancement opportunities only come when you gain more years of experience Physical Therapists Nurses Assistance and Sports trainers are related job to an athletic trainer

Wages- on average they make 7.50 an hour and 43,000 a year n Benefits- Paid vacation, sick leave, and health insurance

Career cluster is health science Helpful high school courses are n Keyboarding n Physiology n Anatomy n Health and Fitness n Health Education Over all I like this job. You get to be active and meet new people. The pay is good and so are the benefits
