Calculation Tools There are various calculation tools available. This example illustrates how to determine the number of lashings required to safely secure a load, based on 2 calculation tools: Quick Lashing Guide Quick Calculation Charts

1. Quick Lashing Guide Availability

1. Quick Lashing Guide The values in the Quick Lashing Guide are based on the following assumptions: Lashing points resist 2000 daN Webbings have a Lashing Capacity (LC) of 1600 daN Webbings have an STF of 400 daN Lashing angles are between 75 and 90 If values are different, the results must be adjusted by a multiplication factor (indicated in the guide).

Input Required – Part 1 Check if the load restraint system meets the default values of the Quick Lashing Guide, i.e. for top-over lashing: check that STF = 400 check that angle is between 75 and 90 In this case, both conditions are met, so no multiplication factor is required.

1 lashing secures 0.38 tons X lashings secure 6 tons X = 6 / 0.38 = 15.8 = 16 lashings required Cargo weight rear block: 7 tons Y lashings secure 6 tons Y = 7 / 0.38 = 18.4 = 19 lashings required
