Normally the mud in a salt marsh is brown but when you see these black areas you know anaerobic bacteria are producing the lovely swamp gas smell form below. No oxygen present means fermentation !!!

Walking along the beach we saw dolphins concussing fish to knock them out for dinner. Totally cool!!
