Instructional Activity Outline This outline will be submitted with each of your digital media projects (Interactive PPT, Digital Image, Digital Audio, Digital Video). It will also be included with each project in the Digital Media page in your Portfolio. Identification of the Class Subject: English Grade: 8 th Which TEKS Standards does your lesson address? (2) Reading/Vocabulary Development. Students understand new vocabulary and use it when reading and writing. Students are expected to: (A) determine the meaning of grade-level academic English words derived from Latin, Greek, or other linguistic roots and affixes; (B) use context (within a sentence and in larger sections of text) to determine or clarify the meaning of unfamiliar or ambiguous words; (C) complete analogies that describe part to whole or whole to part;

What is/are the learning objective(s) for your instructional activity? Students are to go through the power point and choose the right word that goes with the definition or example. The objective is for students to get a better understanding of certain vocabulary words without having to write them 10 times each or staring at a long list of words and definitions. This activity will also be modified to help students understand prefixes and words with Latin or Greek bases. Lastly this activity can be used to place vocabulary words in sentences and have them determine the meaning. Describe how you will implement the instructional activity in 5-6 sentences. This would be a weekly or bi-weekly activity. I would change the words to reflect a specific segment we would be studying. For example the words could reflect reading comprehension based on passages from a book or literary terms. This could be a student-led activity also. To help get class started a different student each week could stand at the front and click on the answer that the class votes on. In addition, this project could be an individual activity, after students finish other assignments they can go open it the activity on a computer and practice.
