11. 11 SRF Principal Forgiveness Projects that meet the following goals are automatically eligible for loan forgiveness: Address water-efficiency goals Address energy-efficiency goals Mitigate stormwater runoff Encourage sustainable project planning, design and construction. Every year between November 1 and December 31 GEFA collects pre- applications for principal forgiveness through the federal SRF loan programs. This forgiveness has historically ranged from 10 up to 40 percent of loan amount. Eligibility for principal forgiveness is based upon: Income (Below 80% of statewide median household income) Unemployment (Local unemployment greater than state average) Population Trends (one point for an increase and two for decrease)
