Social capital  Social capital is the degree to which a community or society collaborates and cooperates (through such mechanisms as networks, shared trust, norms and values) to achieve mutual benefits.  Social capital is oriented towards development and growth of welfare if values and norms of the members of the community are trustful and cooperative  Social capital deals also with very pragmatic, mutually beneficial activities  Social capital deals with both issues of quality and quantity of social cohesion and collaboration
