2. ABC Chart  Please have your child practice reading the ABC chart.  After your child becomes very fluent, have them read it backwards, or in another pattern.  Play games with the ABC chart – such as toss a penny on the chart and name the letter it lands on and say a word that begins with that sound.

3. Raz Kids  Raz Kids is a great way to get your child excited about reading!  Your child can listen to a book or read a book. They earn stars by reading books. The stars can be spent in the “rocket room”.  Please be sure your child is working in the assigned level or below. They can go to the bookroom to select books from another level. We have already started working on sight words. Formal assessment will begin the second semester.

5. Poem Folder  This should come back and forth each day.  It can be used for reading homework using the activities found in the front of the folder.  If you have any questions about how to implement the suggested activities, please contact me.
