MOTHERBOARD Mother board: Web definitions A printed circuit board containing the principal components of a microcomputer or other device, with connectors into which other circuit boards can be slotted. the primary circuit board of a personal computer, containing the circuitry for the central processing unit, keyboard, mouse and monitor, together with slots for other devices

CD ROM- DVD DRIVE Wed definitions- Compact Disk, Read-Only Memory. A type of storage device that looks just like an audio CD and stores as much data as a large hard disk (600MB), making it a popular means of distributing fonts, photos, electronic encyclopedias, games, and multimedia offerings A thin disk (Compact Disk Read Only Memory) which holds thousands of pages of information.
6
POWER SUPPLY Web definitions- A source of power such as the mains or a generator; That part of a piece of electronic apparatus that provides appropriate voltages for the rest of the electronics from the connected AC source A separate unit or part of a circuit that supplies power to the rest of the circuit or to a system. A complete power system for control, protection, communication, consisting of a modular power cabinet or d.c. power cabinet, rectifiers, and battery and battery fuses.
7
CPU (Central processing unit) Web definition- It converts the current from AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current), which is what the computer requires to function Central Processing Unit. The computer module in charge of retrieving, decoding, and executing instructions. CPU usually denotes the box that contains the microprocessor, power supply, and disk drives. The main chip or brain in your computer, also known as the processor. New ones are released practically weekly. CPUs are measured in gigahertz. The bigger the number, the faster your computer will perform tasks.
8
Fan Web definitions- A computer fan is any fan inside a computer case used for cooling purposes, and may refer to fans that draw cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside, or move air across a heatsink to cool a particular component *heatsink is - Heat generated by electronic devices and circuitry must be dissipated to improve reliability and prevent premature failure*
9
MEMORY CARD SOCKETS Web definitions- (Memory card socket) A memory card connector includes an insulating housing defining conductive terminal grooves and two locating grooves at a sidewall there of. A shelter shell coupled with the insulating housing to form a card cavity has a top section and two side sections.
