CAD and Architecture CAD means Computer Aided Design. Architecture is the practice of designing spaces for human use.

CAD and Architecture Everything that is manufactured or produced starts with a design. Nearly all design work done today employs the use of a CAD system.

CAD and Architecture CAD operators are needed to work in nearly every industry there is. Salaries for CAD operators range from $27,500 to $62,000 annually. Designers and Architects can earn from $38,000 to $87,000 annually.

CAD Lessons CAD normally requires special software. We will be using a new program called SketchUp. SketchUp is a simplified CAD program that we will use to teach you some CAD skills. It might be slightly different on Windows than the Mac. –SketchUp is a free download from Google. –You can try it at home if you like. –No one program does everything a good CAD program can do.
