2. Overview caGrid 1.5 is a major release of caGrid Rollup of bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features Support for current NCI tech stack container technology – Tomcat 6 and JBoss 5.1 88 JIRA tracker items closed out in this release – Not including issues related to generating release artifacts, documents, etc.

3. caGrid 1.5 Release Status Training Grid being upgraded – Anticipated completion on Friday, March 16 QA deployment beginning immediately after Stage and Production deployment at date TBD with NCI Release artifacts and installers made public at completion of production grid installation

4. Major New Features Continuous Integration – caGrid 1.5 adds support for creating data services backed by caCORE SDK 4.4, and includes upgrade functionality which will migrate services created using caGrid 1.3 and the downloadable Introduce extension for caCORE SDK 4.4 to caGrid 1.5 – Builds of caGrid now leverage the NCI's nexus repository rather than the one based on SVN and Gforge – Support for NCI Tech Stack changes including Tomcat 6 and JBoss 5.1.0.GA deployment support Data Services – Data services have dramatically improved performance for serializing and deserializing CQL and CQL 2 results

5. Major New Features (cont) Introduce Toolkit – Upgraders have been provided to migrate services from versions of caGrid 1.3 and 1.4 to 1.5 Core Services – All core caGrid services have been upgraded to version 1.5 Authentication Service – Improved handling of and information about locked out accounts, including a mechanism to permanently whitelist an account or unlock an account Globus Toolkit – The Globus Toolkit utilized by caGrid has been improved with small bug fixes and large performance increases

6. Deprecation News caGrid 1.2 no longer supported – Consistent with policy of supporting the current release and two previous – Upgrades from 1.2 to 1.5 not directly supported Upgrade 1.2 to 1.4, then 1.4 to 1.5 if necessary GAARDS support for Dorian 1.2 dropped caGrid Installer creates containers with the modern tech stack – Tomcat 6 and JBoss 5.1 – Services should still deploy correctly to Tomcat 5.5 and Jboss 4.0.4, but this is no longer supported
