Just how sure are you? Use POWER-PACKED, STRONG VOCABULARY You are so right that you can take the argument against you and PROVE IT WRONG [Counter-Argument] You are going to ask your reader not just to agree, but to ACT upon what you have written [Call to Action]

Let’s Practice Being Right: Prompt 1: Recently, a school district in Pennsylvania became the first in the state to change the traditional school schedule from a five-day week to a four-day week. This change is intended to save the school district money, but it may cost parents and students money and opportunities in the long run. State your position on the issue and then persuade your fellow classmates to either shorten your school week to four days or keep the five-day school week.

Let’s Practice Being Right: Prompt 2: Some members of your school board want to ban certain books from the public library. they feel that these books contain topics that are inappropriate for young readers. Do you agree or disagree that some kinds of books should be band from the library? Write a letter to your school board persuading the members that these books should or should not be banned.

Let’s Practice Being Right: Prompt 3: Since celebrities are constantly in the public eye, there is a debate over what their responsibilities as role models should be. Many celebrities have stated that they do not believe they should be viewed as role models, while other shave argued that it is their responsibility to use their celebrity status to raise awareness for many social issues. Explain your position on the responsibility of celebrities to act as role models.
