Start game Teacher’s Instructions: This activity can be alongside regular curriculum content to help build vocabulary and confidence with the English language. This particular version of Red Herring focuses on synonyms and antonyms. In each question, students should identify the antonym. As an extension activity, students should be able to justify their answer, and be able to use the words correctly in a sentence – bonus points if they can come up with a sentence related to your subject area! Running the Activity: Run the slideshow from slide 1. Allow students to see the purpose of the activity. Click on ‘Click to start’. Four fish will swim on to the screen showing four phrases.
