1 The Lost Art of Waiting Isaiah 30:18

2 Isaiah 30:18 18 Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.

3 1. Waiting on the Lord requires patient trust
Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) Be still and know that I am God. (Holman Christian Standard) “Stop your fighting, and know that I am God.”

4 2. Waiting on God reminds us that God is in control
1 Thess. 5:24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

5 3. Waiting on the Lord allows God to do His work in His time
Habakkuk 1:2 How long, LORD, must I call for help and You do not listen, or cry out to You about violence and You do not save?

6 Habakkuk 2:1-3 1 I will stand at my guard post and station myself on the lookout tower. I will watch to see what He will say to me and what I should reply about my complaint. 2The LORD answered me: Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it. 3 For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.

7 4. Waiting on God increases my strength
Isaiah 40:31 Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
