Nelumbo nucifera, known as Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, or simply lotus, A plant in the Nelumbonaceae family Botanically: Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn.) Its former names are Nelumbium speciosum or Nymphaea nelumbo
