2  The day was by now far advanced.  But he knew a number of things about the family.  Mr. Harding dines in the summer at four.  Eleanor was accustomed to drive in the evening.  Therefore he would probably find Mr. Harding alone. 

Read the story, and then, write a response in which you analyze the ways the writer combines his religious preference with Romantic elements.
