Learning Targets for Measurement Skills Unit 1.2
2
Essential Question Why are accuracy and precision important? What limits our ability to be pricise?
3
Big Idea Accuracy and precision give validity to your data.
4
You Should Know: Accuracy compares an experimental value to what is accepted. Precision describes the degree of exactness of a measurement. Graphs represent relationships. The basic SI units for physics are meters, kilograms, and seconds.
5
You should be able to: Make measurements with accuracy and precision. Record data using scientific notation and SI units. Use DA for unit conversions. Organize and evaluate data and make inferences from data, including the use of tables, charts, and graphs. Identify and quantify causes and effects of uncertainties in measured data.
