1 VueCentric VIM Design Mode Student Exercise – Moderate Design 3

2 Design Mode Exercise Problem List * Past Diagnoses * Past Procedures * Visit Diagnosis ICD Pick List * Tabbed in a single pane Goal: Create New POV Tab

3 A completed POV tab

4 Enter Design Mode Click on Medsphere Logo and click on "Design Mode"

5 Start with a "Clean Slate" So that we can create a tab with the components we need, first let's remove the original POV tab Right click on the POV tab and click on Remove This will allow us to create a POV tab with components that are only allowed to exist once on a VueCentric template

6 Create a new Tab Right click in a "open area" next to an existing tab and click "Properties"

7 Open the Tab Editor Click on the "+" sign

8 Add a new tab Type name "New POV", the click "Apply" and then click "OK"

9 Start building new Tab Click on the Tab you just created You now see a blank tab Right click in the body of the tab and click "Add Object"

10 Add Splitter Panes Within the "Add Object" dialog, click the + sign left of "Name" to expand it

11 Add Splitter Pane Scroll down the expanded list until you see "Splitter Pane" and then double click on it (alternatively right click and click "Align" and "All"

12 Splitter Pane orientation Right click on the Splitter Pane to access its Properties

13 Splitter Pane orientation Click on the dropdown Value for "Orient" and change it from Horizontal to Vertical

14 Splitter Pane orientation Click "Apply" and "OK" Note that the dividing line in the splitter pane has now changed to Vertical

15 Splitter Pane orientation Double click on the splitter pane to fill the entire tab Note: You can easily move the divider as desired by clicking and dragging it

16 Split a Splitter Pane Let's divide the top Pane with another Splitter Pane Repeat the steps as above: Right click in the top pane, click Add Object, then double click on Splitter Pane once again Horizontal orientation is correct, so simply double click to fill the space

17 Move the Pane divider Click and drag the divider to roughly the center (note the black dots)

18 Add Visit Diagnosis Right click in the upper right pane and click Add Object

19 Add Visit Diagnosis In the Add Object dialog, scroll down to "Visit Diagnosis (VPOV)" and double click on it

20 Add Visit Diagnosis Double click on the newly added object to make it fill the entire pane

21 Add ICD Pick List Now let's follow the same steps as above to add the ICD Pick List to the bottom Pane Right click in the bottom pane and click Add Object In the Add Object dialog, scroll down to "ICD Pick List" and double click on it Double click on the newly added object to make it fill the entire pane

23 Add Tabs to last Pane Right Click in upper left Pane and click Add Object Scroll to "Tabbed Notebook" and double click on it

24 Adding Tabs Double Click on the new tab to fill the entire Pane

25 Rename the new Tab Right click on the new Tab and click Properties Then click on the "Tab Editor" button Then click on the Tab in the right column Click on the pencil icon to rename the tab Change the name from "Main" to "Problem List" and click "Apply"

26 Adding Tabs Now while still in the Tab Editor, click the blue + to add the next tab

27 Adding Tabs As above, after adding the new tab, click the pencil icon and rename to "Past Diagnoses" and click "Apply"

28 Adding Tabs Finally repeat the process one more time and create a Tab and rename it "Past Procedures" and click "Apply" and "OK"

29 Tab beautification Right click on the "Problem List" tab and click on Properties Click on the "Tab Editor" button Click on "Problem List" in the right column and then click on the Crayon icon to change the tab's color

31 Clicking on the icon brings up the Color dialog

32 Editing Tab Color Select the desired color and click "OK" Repeat the color selection process with the remaining two tabs Now click "Apply" on the Properties for Tabbed Notebook" dialog

33 Editing Tab Color You should now have something like this:

34 Adding Object to the Tabs Click "OK" to change the Properties Right Click on the "Problem List" tab and click "Add Object" and scroll to "Problem Management"

35 Adding Objects to Tabs Double click the to place the object Now double click on the placed object to fill the entire tab

36 Adding Objects to Tabs Now repeat the above process for the "Past Diagnosis" tab, but add the object "POV History"

37 Adding Objects to Tabs Finally repeat the above process one more time on the "Past Procedures" tab adding the object "Procedure Viewer"

38 Template complete! Congratulations, at this point you should have a completed new POV tab. To test this new tab, click the Medsphere logo and click Design Mode to uncheck it Select a patient and visit and you should be able to view and enter data on this tab

40 Saving your Work Remember: When editing or creating VueCentric templates to save your work before logging off When in Design Mode, click the Design menu and then "Save as Template"

41 Saving your Work Save the template to a new name in case you want to revert back to the old template
