2 Navigating Visit http://www.gmail.com Sign in using your gmail address and password.

3 Navigation Continued Select the Mail link located on the black navigation bar located towards the top of the screen.

4 Reading New Mail New mail shows up in the Inbox in bold print. Click on the message subject to open the message. (A brief preview of the message is given to the right of the message).

5 Reading New Mail Continued In a new message you can delete the message by hitting the Trash Can at the top. To reply / forward / print the message: click the upside down triangle on the right side near the star and arrow.

6 Composing New Messages Click Compose at the top left, to compose a new message. Enter in your recipient(s) in the to line (will autofill from your address book), your subject, and select attach file to include any attachments.

7 Composing New Messages Continued Formatting for message content is below the subject box and aligns with many of the formatting options available in Microsoft products. Spell Checking is also available for message contents (most browsers will underline misspelled words).

8 Address Book = Contacts The address book in Gmail is accessed by clicking on Mail at the top left and selecting Contacts. Gmail keeps track of contacts you email automatically. To create a contact, select New Contact.

9 Contacts Continued Enter the contact information for the new contact and select save now from the right side. Select the bent arrow from the left to return to the Contacts screen.

10 Contacts Continued Special Notes on Contacts: Address books can be imported from many mail programs (Entourage, Outlook, etc...). To create mailing groups: o Select New Group on the left, and enter a name for the group. o Once the group is created, hit the checkbox next to the contacts you want in the group and hit the add to group button, and check the box next to the group, and click apply.

13 Navigation Continued Select the calendar link located on the black navigation bar located towards the top of the screen.

14 Creating a Calendar Click on the triangle to the right of my calendars and click create new calendar from the list.

15 Creating a Calendar Continued Give your calendar a name, a description (optional), and a location (optional). Check to make sure you have the correct country and time zone.

16 Sharing Your Calendars You can share your calendars with everyone in your organization or with just specific people. If you share with specific people you can give them different permissions.

17 Saving Your Calendar Be sure to click create calendar at the bottom of the page to save it.

18 Creating a Calendar Event Click on the red create icon located at the top left of the screen. Title your event. Ex: Google Training Set the date and time of your event.

19 Creating a Calendar Event Cont... You have the option to check the box all day if the event is an all day occurrence. Ex: Institute Days, Holidays, Birthdays You also have the option to repeat the event if it occurs more than once.

20 Repeat Event Check the box to repeat the event. Choose how often the event will repeat on your calendar. Choose a start and end date and click done.

21 Location, Calendar, and Description You can give more specific information about your event under the event details tab. Location Choose a calendar Write a description Add an attachment Label your event in a different color

22 Calendar Reminders You can add a calendar reminder to remind you of any upcoming events scheduled. Click on the add a reminder link. You can choose to have the reminder sent to you via email, sms, or with a pop-up

23 Calendar Reminders Continued You can set the reminder to remind you in a number of minutes, hours, days, or weeks.

24 Others Viewing Your Events Choose if you want your event to show whether you are busy or available at the event time. Choose whether you would like your event to be private or public.

25 Sharing Your Calendar You can share your events with others by simply typing in their email address where it says add guests. This allows others to add your event to their calendar and respond to you as to whether they can attend the event or not.

26 Sharing Your Calendar Continued Once you share your event, your guests will receive an invitation via email where they can respond. You have the options to allow your guests to modify the event, invite others, or view the guest list.

27 Saving Your Event to Your Calendar Once you have filled in all of the necessary information, click save at the top of your screen.

28 Reading Your Calendar You have a variety of ways to view your calendar. Choose how you would like to view your events by clicking on the tabs pictured above on your google calendar home page.

29 Calendar Views Day-View events by the hour Week-View events by the day and hour Month-View all events on a calendar for that month 4 Days-View events for a period of 4 days by the hour Agenda-View a list of you events by date, time, and title

30 Clicking on an Event If you click on an event title you will see the event's details, have the option to delete the event, or edit the event.

31 Syncing Calendars to Your iPhone Visit http://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect http://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect Select the calendars you would like to sync with your iphone calendar and click save.

36 Google Drive Click create to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and more.

39 Sharing Once you have created a document, spreadsheet, presentation, or form then you can share with anyone. Click share Type in the email address of the person you would like to share your document with. Click done

40 Opening Files Files that you create are saved under my drive. Files that are shared with you are saved under shared with me.

41 Uploading Files You can upload files created in another program to save in your google drive account. Click on the upload icon next to create. Select files or enable folder upload to upload a complete folder saved on your computer.

42 Downloading Files to View Open the file you would like to view. Click file and select download as. Choose the program you would like to open your file in.

43 Exporting Files to Google Drive The export function allows you to create google files from other files such as word, excel, etc. Open the file Select file and then export to google document.

44 Download Files The download function allows you to download your original documents back into the program they were originally created in. Open your file Click file Select download

45 Download Files Continued Select the program you want to open your file in and click ok. This will allow you to modify and edit your document.

46 After Downloading and Modifying Once you download your file and modify it, then you must save it and then upload it again to google drive.

47 Organizing Your Files Click create Click folder Title your folder and click create

48 Moving Your Files to a Folder To move your files to a folder to organize like files, simply click and drag the file to the folder under my drive. See more by clicking on the movie icon.
