Disadvantages Transportation takes a long and is uncomfortable Goes through the Ural Mountains. Inland waterways are important, but many long rivers drain north into the frigid Arctic Ocean and freeze in the winter.

Problem of the Land that Affects Transportation Russia is very large, so Trans-Siberian Railroad costs a lot of money. Especially from Moscow to Vladivostok. Has very few roads. In the east part it is very mountainous

Transportation in Moscow The metro is all one zone there is no special zone. The metro is open from 5:20 A.M to 1:00 A.M. Water Transportation Many Russian rivers run from south to north making their use difficult during the winter. During the winter most of the ports are covered in snow and ice which makes it hard to move around. When trading, they must transport their goods another 200 miles to reach the nearest part of inland Russia
