Study Method Lo-Fi Prototyping 5 Participants (sociology, communication, biology, art history, government) Location: McKeldin Library, Stamp Student Union Prototype: Paper Interactive Prototype 3 Participants (psychology, music education, criminology) Location: South Campus Diner Prototype: JQuery Mobile Methodology Participant introduced to project, goals, and prototype. Participant given three tasks to complete. Participant asked for overall feedback.

Video Notes Lo Fi Overall learned it needed to be simpler and clearer Redesigned home screen to be very simple Redesigned application navigation – Consolidated most actions under profile page – Cut redundancies Cut heatmaps Other small changes such as list sorting, icon changes, simplified reviews, etc. Interactive Prototype Overall learned users wanted a more functional prototype. Users got caught up in lack of live data and visual cues. Mainly learned of things we already knew we needed to implement and improve. Overall, study participants liked the app and found it easy to use.

Conclusion SmartNoms works to make eating out healthy easy through automatic recommendations based on your needs and likes.
