4. After determining and chalking your rough opening: – Saw the opening between the rafters This leaves you with your opening

5. You may now felt the roof deck Also you may run the shingles up the opening as seen in the diagram

6. Remove skylight from the box Perimeter Flashing is already welded/installed onto the unit. Extend the hold down straps perpendicular to the unit and slightly toward the center.

7. Allow hold down straps to pass through rough opening. Wrap the hold down straps to the rafter Nail or screw into place

8. Lay your first row of shingles up to the skylight Insert step flashing into step flashing retainer and on top of shingles.

9. Lay shingle on top of pre-bent step flashing. Repeat up roof Last piece of step flashing is tucked into step flashing pocket Rotate into step flashing retainer and slide into step flashing pocket.

11. Finish installing shingles Top shingle should butt against the header perimeter flashing. Install dry-wall into trim grooves – Accommodates 5/8” and 1/2” dry-wall. CONGRATULATIONS!! You have successfully installed a Starlight Skylight.
