SIMPLE WAYS TO PREVENT THE FLU

Wash your hands vigorously with soap and warm water for approximately 20 seconds any time your hands are soiled or you have coughed or sneezed. Sing Happy Birthday 2 times to ensure that you have washed for an adequate amount of time.

If you do not have access to a sink, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and be sure to rub it in until your hands are dry! Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread this way!

Every person 6 months of age or older is recommended to get the Flu vaccination.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing to prevent germs from spreading. Throw the tissue away immediately after you use it. If a tissue is not available, sneeze or cough into the inner part of your elbow.

If you are sick with a flu-like illness, stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone without the use of fever-reducing medication!
