4   This is your opportunity to discuss the novel. You may ask your own questions. You may also use these questions to inspire your discussion:  How does Dickens’ feel about the fascination of public execution?  Why does Dickens compare his characters to animals throughout the novel?  Why are the jury members compared to flies?  Why is Mr. Sydney Carton referred to as a jackal?  Why is Mr. Stryver referred to as a lion?  Is patriotism a good thing for society?
