ADOLESCENCE The gradual change from child to an adult. Ages 12-19 Mental and Emotional changes occur

During ADOLESCENCE, the Reproductive System matures and adult features appear. Timing of these changes varies greatly from person to person The period of sexual development is called PUBERTY~ The time when a person becomes sexually mature and able to reproduce

Pituitary gland in brain signals for a girl’s ovaries or boy’s testes to begin producing sex hormones. Ovaries produce eggs and the hormones produce estrogen and progesterone. Testes produce sperm and the hormone testosterone.
