the use of other poetic techniques.

All poems have a voice, which can be called a speaker (or in some case speakers, if there is more than one person “speaking” the poem).

Tone and Mood
Tone, in written composition, is an attitude of a writer toward a subject or an audience. Tone is generally conveyed through the choice of words or the viewpoint of a writer on a particular subject.
Mood is the atmosphere of a literary piece, as it creates an emotional situation that surrounds the readers. Mood is developed in a literary piece through various methods. It can be developed through setting, theme, tone and diction.

Imagery is when a writer appeals to the reader’s senses in order to build a picture or create a sensation for them.

Symbolism is the practice of representing things by means of symbols or of attributing symbolic meanings or significance to objects, events, or relationships.
A motif a dominant or recurring idea in an artistic work.
