Proverbs What is a Proverb? Who does it come from? Proverbs 1:7 Theme of the book – “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” – What does that mean?

Proverbs 3:5-6 Why would the Solomon put this in a book of “understanding”? – This seems to be a “disclaimer” What does it mean to trust? How is this verse applicable to Solomon specifically? – Initial request for wisdom – Remember the Queen of Sheba

Time to modernize the Proverbs Each of you will receive about 3 proverbs For your proverb: – Figure out what it means – Create a modern version of it – Try not to make it too similar; it’s for a worksheet tomorrow.
