5 Climate Description Reyner Island is located at 20 degrees north and 160 degrees west, near Hawaii. It has the length of 600 mile and the width of 700miles It is in the tropics and receives direct sunlight, which means that it is a humid place to live, but that also means that it is a very good place to plant a variety of vegetation. It has the average temperature of 24 Celsius throughout the year and around 24.4 cm of rainfall each year. Reyner Island contains a volcano, a Mountain Range, two rivers, one lake, and a thick rainforest that encompasses the volcano. Reyner Island has hot summers and mild winters; it receives more rain in the winter than the other seasons. The temperature on Reyner Island could get as hot as 31 degrees Celsius in the late summer, but can drop to 18 degrees during winter. The north equatorial current is warm water current that comes from the northern equator and runs through the island, keeping the island warm.

7 Climate Concerns Because of all the pollutions that everyone is making, including Reyner Island, global warming is starting to become a threat to the island. Because of the extreme heat caused by both global warming and it’s location, some of the plants would not be able to adapt to the great change, causing animals and plants going close to extinction.

8 Agriculture & Livestock  Although it is not good place to raise beef and poultry because of the lack of large amounts of grass. Reyner island contains rich soil and good humid temperatures for farming crops such as bananas, pineapples, and coconuts. Because of Reyner island’s success in agriculture, they live by exporting their crop to other countries. Because the soil of Reyner Island is so fertile, it’s arable land cover 35 percent of the island.
