Includes all the air surrounding the solid planet.

3. Geosphere
Includes all of the Earth’s rocks and minerals, as well as Earth’s interior.

4. Hydrosphere
Includes all of oceans, rivers, lakes and every drop of water on or under Earth’s surface.

5. Includes all the living things on Earth.
Biosphere
Includes all the living things on Earth.

6. Why it is important?
You need to understand that when matter and energy move through the Earth system it makes it possible to:
*predict how temperature change in ocean might affect weather
*determine how clearing forests might affect rainfall
*explain where organisms on the ocean floor get energy to carry out life processes

7. Four Major Parts of the Earth’s Systems
Turn to page XIX in your textbook. Find these four words and copy the exact definition of each word from your book into your spiral notebook. These are your first notes for our Water Unit – be sure to start them on a new page.
You will need to memorize these definitions.

Each section must have:
1.Title
2. Definition of that part
3. Illustration
4. Research two additional facts about that part of the earth.
On the back of your paper, CITE your information from the internet.
Poster must be Colorful and Creative – leave no white on the poster!
