ECTA Conference- Berlin – 6 October 2009 Duration –280 hours –accelerated initial qualification : 140 hours –or specific test (min. 4h theory and 90 min + 30 min practice) Specific emphasis on road safety and rationalisation of fuel consumption Harmonisation with ages in Driving Licence Directive Initial qualification

ECTA Conference- Berlin – 6 October 2009 Duration –35 hours every 5 years given in periods of at least 7 hours To be differentiated from other training programs (ADR, demerit points…) Specific emphasis on road safety and rationalisation of fuel consumption Periodic Training

ECTA Conference- Berlin – 6 October 2009 Implementation / initial qualification –Transports of passengers : since 10 September 2008 –Transport of goods: from 10 September 2009 Implementation / periodic training –Within 5 years of the issue of CPC –Period of implementation : no shorter than 3 years or longer than 7 years (to align with driving licence validity) Timings

ECTA Conference- Berlin – 6 October 2009 Training of professional drivers No european harmonisation No clear rules / procedures about subsidies Autorisation/Certification of Training centres on national or even local Level Driver needs his C.P.C (Certificate of professional competence) - without this, his driving licence is no longer valid
