Volcanoes By Kabir Singh

Where volcanoes happen. Volcanoes happen all around the world. The ring of fire and fault lines are where volcanoes mostly happen. The ring of fire runs along the California coast all the way to Alaska.

What features/structures on directly involved with Volcanoes? Volcanoes have many structures directly volcanoes. They are made out of rock and are also on fault lines. Volcanoes also are sometimes close to water as well. Hotspots are also usually close to volcanoes.

What scale is used They use the Volcanic Explosivity Index. They measure from 0 to 7( 7 the worst and 0 the weakest.) 0 is non explosive 1 is small 2-3 is moderate 4 is large and 5 6 and 7 are very large.

After effects of a volcano An effect that happens is ash fall. A example is Mt. Vesuvius which covered the whole town in ash. There also can be earthquake aftershocks. There also can be changes in climate and wildfires.

Extreme conditions of a volcano Cities would get covered in ash. The smoke would spread far. There also could be extreme heat and even wildfires and aftershocks.

Key terms Some key terms are the mantle, stratovolcanoes. Stratovolcanoes are ones that erupt. Rock is another one. Rock is cooled lava. One more is magma which is lava from the mantle.

Important facts The scale is called the Volcanic Explosivity Index. Another fact is that a danger area is in a 20 mile radius.
