Mrs. Pavlovich

 I LOVE the Physical Sciences because I like to see how the world works.  Studied Chemical Engineering at Princeton University  Experience in industry, construction, AND education  Feel free to contact me at Lpavlovich@nshahs.org. I will respond to emails within 24 hours. Lpavlovich@nshahs.org

 Standard Regents level course  The same course as taught at all NY public and private schools

 First quantitative science course your students have taken  We learn the principles of Chemistry,  but we also need to be able to do calculations with them.  This is exercise for your child’s developing brain!

 60% of the grade  Always announced more than a week in advance.  Next test will be October 30th

 Buy your child a calculator: TI 30X (with an EE button) or TI 80 series.  Calculators ARE allowed on tests. Phones are NOT allowed on tests. Therefore, do not use the calculator function in your phone.  Computer and internet access for Castle Learning assignments.  Quiet area for nightly homework.  Plenty of sleep the night before a test; no late night cramming!

 We have excellent lab facilities  And a full-time lab assistant here at NSHAHS  Thank you for your support

 Learn by doing - experience the science!  Some labs will require formal write ups like the ones your students just completed about penny density.  Labs are a NY state requirement and must be completed to receive “complete” standing.  Safety first!
