Workshop 5 : Charts (cont’d)
2
Bar Chart A chart with rectangular bars with the height (or length) of each bar being proportional to the actual values they represent. Bar charts is the most commonly used chart. Can be used to depict the frequency distribution (histogram).

4
Line Chart is a chart in which the various data points are represented by points which are connected with lines. can be used to show the variation in data over a period of time and its frequency distribution for one or more variables.

Pie Chart is a circular chart which is divided into sectors. each sector shows the portion of the total corresponding that particular component. the angle all are in the same ratio as the actual value of components. Variations of the basic circular pie chart include donut charts, blow-up pie charts and 3-D pie charts

Area Chart is used to represent data on a chart with the portion under each point being shaded out.

Radar Chart is a two dimensional chart use to plot data around a circular scale. Usually used in comparison among few important domains.

12
Scatter Plot (X-Y Chart) is a graphical representation of the value generated from two or more variables.
13
Scatter Plot (X-Y Chart) Exercise
14
Bubble Chart Key business chart used to show three dimensional data without using a third axis. The bubble size represents the third variable.
15
Surface Chart used to indicate a continuous relationship of two or more variables over a three dimensional space.
