Deserts Geography & Climate
Location: Cold deserts are near the Arctic part of the world. Hot and dry deserts are near the Tropic of Cancer or the Tropic of Capricorn.

Deserts Biodiversity Plant species: Hot deserts- all ground-hugging shrubs and short woody trees. Cold deserts- sagebrush and shrubs. Animal species: Hot deserts- nocturnal carnivores, burrowers, Horned Vipers, and Camels. Cold deserts- Antelope, Ground Squirrels, Jack Rabbits, and Kangaroo Rats. *There are about different animal species in the desert biome.

Deserts Adaptations Needed for Survival
The adaptations needed for survival..... Plants: Plants store water for long periods of time. Animals: Animals burrow the ground to keep cool.

Deserts Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic
Biotic: The plants are able to store water, therefore they can survive. Abiotic: The animals use plants, and the ground to burrow in because of the hot temperatures.

What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the diversity among and within plant and animal species in an environment.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem?
*Biodiversity is very important to our ecosystem. If we did not have biodiversity our ecosystem would lack many things.
