Protect Yourself Wear the clothing and protective wear identified in your risk assessment Laboratory aprons must be kept fastened Don’t wear sandals or open shoes Long hair must be tied back

Report all accidents to your Teacher or Lab Assistant or If you have an allergy or a medical condition (Eg :- Diabetes or Epilepsy), ensure that your supervisor knows. IMPORTANT DO’s: Undergo First Aid training -For all chemical splashes, wash with plenty of water -Control bleeding with direct pressure,

Read and understand the experiment before entering the lab. Wash your hands before and after lab activity. Be smart. No tasting, touching, smelling, unknown substances

Safety Symbols Know safety symbols They appear in your laboratory manuals They alert you to dangers They remind you to be careful.

Protect Your Hand If a chemical spills on your skin, notify the teacher and rinse with water for 15 minutes Wash hands after every lab Handle glassware, sharp tools and heated containers carefully

Notify teacher if you get cut Broken glass and sharp objects do not go in trash cans LAB ASSISTANT will clean up broken glass

If you have a fire allow teachers and trained people to take control If you hear a fire alarm leave the site immediately ALL members of staff must attend FIRE TRAINING annually. FIRE SAFETY
