HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER I. THE OCCASION (20:1-2) (2 Kings 20)
A. "Set your house in order, for you shall die... (20:1; Acts 17:26; Heb. 9:27). B. The uncertainty of life has a purpose: CONSIDER GOD (Eccl. 7:13-14)! C. It is easy to forget things we don't want to remember: 1. Things left undone? 2. Things not repented of? 3. When the hour comes, many will be weeping (Mt. 22:11-14; 24:46-51).

HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER II. THE MANNER (20:2-3) (2 Kings 20)
A. Turned to God (20:2; Phil. 4:6). B. Professed obedience from the heart (20:3; Rom. 12:1-2). C. Personal sorrow (20:3; 1 Pet. 5:6-7).

HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER II. THE MANNER (20:2-3) (2 Kings 20) D. What of us?
1. Fears, sorrows, concerns, hopes? a. Our health, physical & spiritual? b. Our family, physical & spiritual? c. Our plans, physical & spiritual? 2. Do we remember to pray as Jesus did (Mt. 26:38-44; Jas. 4:13-17)? 3. Could we say: "Remember now, O Jehovah... how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart..."?

HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER III. THE REPLY (20:4-21) (2 Kings 20)
A. Leadership acknowledged (20:5; 2 Tim. 2:19). B. God's answer (20:5-6; Lk. 18:1-8). C. Hezekiah's Forgetfulness (20:12-19). 1. Forget in prosperity (20:12-15, 18-19; Dt. 8:12-17). 2. Forget our sins & God's wrath (Dt. 9:5-7) 3. Forget when leaders absent (Dt. 4:22-23). 4. Forget unpleasant duties (Dt. 25:17-19). 5. Forget the inconvenient Truth (Hos. 4:4, 6).

HEZEKIAH'S PRAYER CONCLUSION: (2 Kings 20)
A. Are we prepared for prayer? B. Are we praying properly? C. Are we learning the lessons that God is teaching? "And he spake a parable unto them to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint" (Luke 18:1)

John 12:48-50 CHRIST & HIS WORD 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. Reject The Plan = Reject The Man! Reject The Plan = Reject LIFE!
