30 How to memorize characters (I)
Don’t copy: when you do the character sheets. Take a moment to look at the character, and try to form a mental image of it and its components. Then cover up the example character, and just write from your memory. Air-writing: if you like to play “air-guitar”… think of a character and try to write it with your finger in the air. Do this as often as you can and anywhere you like. Divide and Conquer: break characters down into components. Repetition: the only effective way is to keep writing and reading the characters as many times as you need. For some it is 20 times, for some it is 200 times.

31 Do the character sheets in the Character Workbook on your own, but make sure you do some every day.
The number of characters that we ask you to write in the character workbook might not be enough for everybody. You should also practice on a separate piece of paper frequently on your own. We will introduce some of the most common radicals. These will be on our tests. The radicals we do not introduce in class, you should study on your own and finish the corresponding character sheets from the character workbook.
