2 The Course Focus  Literature: The Crucible, Frankenstein, King Lear, poetry, short stories, film, etc…  Critical reading & thinking  Writing about literature

3 The Course Course Work: 70%  Speaking & Listening: 25%  Reading & Viewing: 35%  Writing & Representing: 40% Exam: 30%

4 Senior Memory Book  A series of narrative essays telling the story of their lives so far  These become a memory “book” which balances words and pictures to create something unique and meaningful to them  Students are NOT required to spend a lot of $$$ to create these The Course

5 12/AP Split Class Tests/Exams  Different style of questions (ex. Multiple choice)  12 AP will have more open ended questions  12 Advanced will have more focused questions  Different rubrics on some assignments 2 nd Semester  Individual support for AP students preparing for AP exam

6 Supporting Students Website  hrsbstaff.ednet.ns.ca/mnoble hrsbstaff.ednet.ns.ca/mnoble  Agenda posted daily  Students are asked to refer to my website if they are absent Books in the Classroom  Students are encouraged to borrow and read them!

7 Supporting Students Rewrite Policy  Most assignments may be redone and resubmitted  The higher grade will always be the one given Extra help  Lunch, Before/After School, Period 4(D)  Some exceptions (meetings etc…)
