Minutes of the OCCA Fall Meeting November 4, 2004 The Ontario Conference of Casualty Actuaries (OCCA) held its Fall meeting on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Ernst and Young, located at 222 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 1. A motion to approve the minutes of the June 3, 2004 Spring Meeting was carried. 2. A motion to approve the new members and subscribers was carried. 3. The open officer’s position was filled by acclamation:  Lisa Guglietti, Vice President 4. A motion to approve the Financial Statements for the 2004 fiscal year was carried.

3. Minutes of the OCCA Fall Meeting November 4, 2004 5. The recipients of the OCCA 2003 scholarship were announced: a. Xiuzhen Wu, University of Toronto b. Hong Zheng, University of Western Ontario c. Denise Leung Yu Cheung, University of Waterloo 6. The 2004 OCCA Golf Tournament was reviewed. 7. The following topics were addressed by our guest speakers: a. Jim Christie of Ernst & Young presented International Financial Reporting Standards Applied to Property and Casualty Insurance b. David Oakden of Towers Perrin presented Is [Enterprise] Risk Management for Actuaries? c. Pat Teufel presented CAS Update: Where We've Been, Where We Are, and Where We're Going on behalf of the CAS 8. The meeting was adjourned.
