3. Congratulations to the field hockey team! They defeated Upper Saint Clair last night with a score of 8 to 2. Scorers were Natalie Frost, Gracie Daigle, Elizabeth Walsh, Katie Walter, Summer Conley, and Erin Brown. Way to go team

4. The JV and Varsity volleyball teams won their first section match last night against Plum. The varsity team came out swinging and won 3-0. The team takes on Fox Chapel Thursday at home. Come support the Eagles!

5. Anyone interested in playing fast pitch softball this year, there will be a practice today, September 3 from 3:15 – 5:15. Please have a change of clothes, a glove and a bat. We will meet at the front entrance of the school at 2:50 and walk to the field. Parents can pick you up at school at 5:30. The 1 st game of the fall season is this Saturday, September 6. More information will follow.

6. The Annual OC Welcome Back Picnic is this Friday! Please purchase your tickets for food, games, raffles and more in room 210 Wednesday and Thursday during 2nd, 7th and all lunches and before or after school!

7. Auditions for Central Catholic Masque will begin with Juniors and Seniors this Thursday, September 4. Freshman and Sophomore audition will be Wednesday, September 10, and call-backs on Thursday, September 11. Please see Mrs. Gentile for music, or to schedule a run-through.

8. Stage Crew If anyone is interested in participating in stage crew for Masque, there will be a meeting in the band room at Central at 3o'clock this Friday, September 5th. No previous experience is necessary. Please see junior Kathryn Hornyak with any questions. Hope to see you there!

9. The cheerleading parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 3 has been cancelled. Anyone still interested in trying out should report to the aux gym on Thursday no later than 2:50.

10. Oakland Catholic's Cross Country team had a great weekend in Erie at the McDowell Invitational. Lauren Finikiotis finished 5th, Makenzie Zeh 6th and Megan Nagy 8th as the Eagles finished 3rd out of 29 teams. Even better was the JV team which finished 1st with Athena Pyros finishing 1st, Sophie Young 2nd, Emily Laird 5th, Grace Doerfler 6th and Molly Deluca 10th. Congratulations to the whole team.

11. Juniors and Seniors interested in being a Class Retreat Leader, sign up on the Campus Ministry board by the end of the day on Wednesday, Sept. 3rd.

12. Driver’s Education classes – Fall Session 2014 The Driver’s Education class information for the Fall Session can be obtained in the Main Office. We need 25 students enrolled to have the class. Students must sign up in the Main Office by September 4, 2014. The class will be held on Tuesdays in Room G06 from 2:40pm to 5:40pm for ten weeks starting September 9, 2014. Any questions please see Mrs. Ceponis in the Main Office.

14. Join the OC Rowing team! The Novices practice every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:45 and Saturday mornings. No experience is necessary. The practices will be held at the Millvale boathouse. Ask Stephanie Meder, Grace Smoker or Francesca Iurlano for more information.

15. The first Campus Ministry meeting will be Wednesday, September 10th in the Lecture Hall at 2:45 - 3:30. All are welcome to attend!
