SEDER ORDER
2
WHAT IS SEDER Seder represents the idea of order, putting things in order so life is a bit easier. So, what happens if your bedroom looks like this:
3
What Good Is Order? But, suppose the bedroom looked like this instead?
4
Why Order is Important So, why is order important? 1. Because you can find things that you need when you need them? 2. Because you feel better when things look nicer? 3. Because you can walk across the floor without stepping on stuff? 4. Because you can bring your friends in and have a place to sit? 5. Because it makes your parents happy? Which of these is more important to you and which is not important at all?
5
Is Order Important in Nature?
6
Why is Order Important in Nature? Let’s talk about bees…
7
WHAT DO BEES HAVE TO DO WITH ORDER? Can you guess? Why do you think that bees are important? What is happening to bees today? Can this have any effect on us? What about the food that you eat? What have bees got to do with my food?
8
Without Order What Happens?
9
The Bee Example So what have bees got to do with Seder? Well, if everyone paid attention to Seder in their lives and paid attention to nature then the bees would not be in trouble. The good news is that people everywhere are finally realizing how harmful chemicals are to bees and they are trying to stop using them. Once they stop using them then nature can restore the Seder or Order and once again the bees can become a part of the Seder of life.
10
Order in the Universe Order in the universe is reflected in nature. So, do you think that God’s plan includes Seder/Order?
11
Think about Your Body Does it depend upon Seder or Order? Does God have anything to do with this?
12
What Have You Learned About Seder? Could it possibly be part of God’s plan? If it is, what effect would it have on people? What effect would it have on you? How important is it? When you think about what you have to do every day do you put things in order? What sort of order: time, how easy, place? Do you think that we need order in our lives so we can be successful?
13
Mindfulness and Seder In the past months we have studied the following: Hitlandut-Learning Bechira Points-Choice Points Anavah-Humility, One’s Proper Place Savlanut-Patience, Forbearance Chesed-Lovingkindness Kavod-Respect Shtika/Shmirat Lashon-Silence and Careful Speech Bitachon/Emunah-Trust and Faith Seder-Order
14
The Plan The idea is to use all of the Middah so we can create Seder/Order in our lives. For example: if we pay attention to what we are doing, make the right choices, remember our place in the world, have patience with others, love and respect those around us, know when to be silent and when to speak carefully, learn how to trust and have faith; then we will have created Seder/Order in our lives. And, doing all this a little at a time, we can free ourselves up to see what is really happening in life and therefore be free to live a good life.

Goodbye and Remember To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, a time to reap that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
