What is energy? Electricity A source used for power, light, and movement What different things run on and how those things are used Sun Light bulbs movement

Where is energy found? All around us or everywhere Like… Lightening, sun, bodies of water, oil, food, the electricity in buildings and houses

How is energy being used right now in the classroom? People moving and talking Electricity (lights, projector, computers, clock) Gravity (keeping us on the ground) Water flowing (fountain) Heat to stay warm

Where did this energy come from? Sun Lightening/ fire (heat) Food Water Air (wind) Oil and gas Power plant (nuc. Energy)

What does energy do? Provides color Keeps you alive Keeps us warm Keeps us on the earth Gives us nurishment gives us heat, sound, and light entertainment

Why is energy important? Keeps us alive Keeps us warm Makes us more energized Provides movement Makes our lives easier Keeps us entertained (more fun)

Energized Objects A blazing fire, the hot sun, a speeding rocket Energy in action: energy that brings about change It makes things happen!

Wait for it… A chocolate bar, a can of gasoline, and a stretched rubber band Stored energy: available to make things happen but is not bringing about a change at the moment Waiting to make things happen
