1. Aim: How can we create a paragraph of type?

2. Designing a Paragraph of Type O All of the text we have written on the label so far has been a few discrete words or lines O Some designs call for full paragraphs of text O Photoshop allows us to design complete paragraphs of type, without the need of word processing software

3. Creating the Paragraph of Type O In order to create the paragraph of type we need to drag out guide lines to help us center the type O Drag two guidelines from the left vertical ruler, placing the first one at 2.5 inches and the second at 4.5 inches O Drag two guides down from the top horizontal ruler, placing the first one at 10 ¾ inches and the second at 13 inches

4. Creating the Paragraph of Type O Double click the yellow sticky note in the image O Select all of the text in the note, and press Ctrl C. Close the sticky note O Deselect all layers in the layers palette O Select the horizontal type tool

5. Creating the Paragraph of Type O Open the character palette and set the following O Font – Myriad Roman O Font size 10pt O Leading 24 pts O Tracking 5 O Color – Black O Click the paragraph tab and click the center justify button

6. Creating the Paragraph of Type O Drag with the type tool to create a text box that matches the guides you positioned O Press Ctrl – V to paste the text into the box O Drag the horizontal type tool to select all of the text in the second –to-last line of the paragraph O In the character palette set the tracking to 60 O Click the commit changes button and save your work
