Genes are found on the chromosomes. Genes are always in pairs. Each chromosome has many gene pairs. Cell with chromosomes inside the nucleus Chromosomes are made DNA. A gene is a section of that DNA.

Purpose: Cell division for reproduction creates offspring with traits from both mother and father.
