Section 2 One Licensing Portal
9
Retirement of eOpen and MVLS The VLSC will provide a single, integrated portal for managing all volume licensing agreements, including Enterprise, Select, Select Plus, Open and Open Value. eOpen and Microsoft Volume Licensing Services (MVLS) will be retired, with automatic re-directs in place to VLSC. All user accounts and registered Licensing IDs will be migrated seamlessly.
10
Section 3 Registration & User Management
11
Registration Users can now register using a Windows Live ID and business email address.
12
User Permissions
13
User Management More flexibility and control will be added to the user management section. Permissions include access to product keys, downloads, Software Assurance (SA) Management and subscription manager. Permission structure will change from per-user to per-user-and- agreement. The Administrator role can restrict permissions to different pages, such as Product Keys and downloads based on agreement, enrollment and affiliate. When eOpen is retired, all Open Customers will be migrated as VLSC administrators for their open licenses. This is a great opportunity for customers and partners to review and change their permissions as necessary and for Open customers to set up their permission structure for the first time.
14
User Management Permissions are assigned per Licensing ID and not per user.
15
Adding more Licensing IDs Further Licensing IDs can be added to the user’s profile via the Request Permission page. Access Permissions FAQ for additional help Select each role you are requesting

Select Plus Agreement customers receive all possible Volume License keys. Open License and Open Value customers receive keys that match the licenses purchased. All Product Keys can be found on the same page. Multiple Activation Keys (MAKs) no longer need to be requested via a separate page. They will be assigned as all other product keys are currently assigned. Volume Activation With Volume Licensing for products such as Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista, you must use a new type of product activation called Volume Activation (VA). To activate these operating systems with VA, you can use either a Multiple Activation Key (MAK) or Key Management Service (KMS), requiring a KMS key.
