California Standards 8.0 Student organized and describe distribution of data by using of different methods, including frequency table, histogram, standard line and bar graphs, stem-and-leaf displays, scatter plots, and box of whisker plots. 17.0 Students determine confidence interval for a simple random sample from a normal distribution of data and determine the sample size required for a desired margin of error. 18.0 Student determine the P-value for a statistic for a simple random sample from a normal distribution
3
Hypothesis We believe that the average commute time for senior student’s in Century High School is going to be 6.
4
Data Collection The sampling technique used was cluster, we targeted the seniors in our classes in order to get correct data. Some bias used in this process was that we asked our friends first and then we asked random seniors. Example: We will collect data by using the cluster sampling method. We assign senior students a scale 1-10, using a number of 100 senior students in order to process the survey.
5
Data Throughout our survey on asking seniors, we used a scale from 1-10 while 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest response. On Campus We asked 100 Seniors Scale; Score; 1; 1 2; 5 3; 3 4; 7 5; 25 6; 8 7; 13 8; 27 9; 13 10; 16

Statistics From our survey, the mean number for seniors experience in four years was 8.05 with sample standard deviation of 3.71. We’re graduating high school for college … We hope.
7
Confidence Interval 95 % Confidence Interval Z-Interval (6.1526, 7.4914) We are 95% confident that the mean number for high school experience regarding seniors at Century is between 6.15 to 7.49.
8
Hypothesis Testing Conclusion: At 5% level of significance, we failed to reject Ho. There is enough evidence to support our claim.
9
Error Analysis Our sample mean is 8.05, and the 95% confidence level for the population mean is between 6.15 to 7.49 for high school experience. Our sample error is due to absent seniors who couldn’t answer our survey and those who we didn’t ask because of lack of time, we didn’t get all the seniors reports in our survey as we wished. We might need more time and more seniors to take the survey in order to have accurate data.
10
Conclusion We hypothesized that the Century seniors high school experience is at an average of 6. In our survey of a hundred seniors, we found the sample mean of 8.05 with a standard deviation of 3.71. We conclude that the population mean for senior high school experience is between 6.15 to 7.49 with 95% confidence. We test our initial hypothesis with 5% level of significance and confirm our hypotheses is correct.
