3.  Very historical region  Largest population of Aboriginal inhabitants.  Unfortunately, crime is a significant social issue in Alice Springs.

4. Climate  Extreme temperatures because there are no big bodies of water to provide the moderating effect.  Average maximum temperature of 36°C in summer, and 5°C in winter.

5. Uluru (Ayers Rock)  Major feature in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park  Sandstone rock formation that is sacred to the Aboriginal people of the area.

6.  Famous for its changing colours at different time of the day and year.  Climbing Uluru is a popular attraction; however, locals request that you don’t because of its spiritual significance, and also due to a sense of responsibility for the safety of visitors. The visitors guide says: "The climb is not prohibited, but we prefer that, as a guest on A ṉ angu land, you will choose to respect our law and culture by not climbing."

7. Kings Canyon  For those who love to hike  Located in the Watarrka National Park

8.  There are three different tracks you can take  2km: ~1 hour  6km: 3-4 hours long – traces the top of the canyon.  There is a steep climb at the beginning that local call “Heartbreak Hill”  Half way during the walk you visit the “Garden of Eden” – A permanent waterhole.  22 km hike: popular with more adventurous hikers.
